Madefire Collaborates with Magic Leap to Create New Comics Experience for Mixed RealityÂ
Madefire, the award-winning standard in digital comics and innovator of the proprietary Motion Book® format, today announced a new collaboration with Magic Leap, developers of a new computing platform that seamlessly blends the physical and digital world.
Madefire and Magic Leap to build a new Mixed Reality experience that will be available exclusively on Magic Leap at launch, that not only allows creators to take publishing in new and exciting directions, but provides users the ability to publish – from the largest franchises to individual artists and authors.
“When we met at NYCC in 2012, it immediately struck me that Madefire was running a parallel path to Magic Leap — both companies were born out of the desire to tell stories,” said Andy Lanning, Executive Creative Director, Magic Leap. “Conversations over the last five years have evolved into a true partnership, and a commitment to develop with Madefire to create new mixed reality experiences.”
The Madefire App features an incredibly diverse range of content from the history of comic books and graphic novels, plus its proprietary Motion Books technology from brands such as Blizzard Entertainment, DC Comics, Marvel Comics, and Valliant. It also provides the perfect platform to read your favourite stories as they’re released.
Ben Wolstenholme, CEO, Madefire, commented: “Our mission is to allow creators to tell stories in an environment which is easy for consumers – from mobile to tablet, VR and Mixed Reality. This partnership with Magic Leap ensures the vision of the creators of some of the most compelling brands and interesting stories have a solid platform to work from.”
