Review of The Boys episode six

The Boys on Amazon Prime

I love some good trash TV, and they even mention some TLC shows that I avoid. Interesting for Amazon to take a swing at that channel. Welcome to Episode 6, just getting more conspiracies built up in my brain for each thing.

I actually haven’t read the graphic novel for this yet, and I did the Amazon Experience event at San Diego Comic Con, and got into the secret comic shop and won prizes. The sad part is I won Vol 2 of the boys, but I need Vol 1 first obviously!

I want to see how close it follow it, I want to see the writing in the comics and the costumes.

Starlight has gone rogue, and just disappeared after her blunt honesty at the religious “event”, but she’s just blowing off steam and laying low.

We find out that Vought has been shipping Compound V to the hospitals, are they literally building an army of supes? Just picking which babies they deem to be acceptable? Is that how Starlight was made, her mother needed a miracle at any price, is it somehow tied to how she was traveling those religious events constantly? Or they’re just picked at random, and if they are picked at random, then how can they control the outcome for them, so that they don’t become a villain.

I can totally spin something into a wicked scenario.

I love how the Female is part of the boys, and that her and Frenchie have a bond, and she just hangs out with them. This is so weird to see the bond between these guys now with Hugie, it just shows either he’s easily drawn in, or he draws others easily to him.

The downside about an honest speech at a religious event is that someone has to pay the price.

They’re doing background commercials on the Seven and it’s interesting to see how they present everyone. I wonder what will be Maeve, as she’s starting to crack under the false image.

Who the eff is Mesmer. Also when I see Karl Urban in this episode it honestly makes me think of Thor Ragnarok.

Apparently there is an AA group meeting for people that have been who have been damaged, physically or mentally by a supe. It kind of reminds me of the Incredibles, how the Supes were forced to go underground after a bunch of people brought lawsuits up.

The Deep is just feeling that pain a bit, after just taking everything too far, and going over the line (more than once) and having to pay the price for it.

I love the con signing reference and photo opps, and a little guest chameo from Seth Rogen and Billy Zane!!  Oh, Mesmer is played by Hayley Joel Osmont, who was also recently in the Netflix’s Ted Bundy film with Zac Efron, good to see him out and about as an adult, but still has the same little face as the boy in The Sixth Sense.

He’s paid a visit by Mother’s Milk, I mean come on, why that nickname? And he’s only able to lure him out because he called in a favor with one of his social service contacts, I really gotta know how he became such an upstanding character, in wanting to help people and will it be his downfall.

Butcher finally tells Hugie about his obsession with the supes, in particular Homelander, and it’s just going to be the tip of the iceberg, until we know what happened. I need more on this, but makes sense to obviously not give all the info up because then how will the show extend time.

Stillwell and her relationship with Homelander is just so unnatural, IT’S WRITTEN SO WELL, and my GOD, Antony Starr better win an award.

SO the payment is made and Mesmer is trying to help with the Female and of course there is collateral damage.

Maeve is finally doing her reality tv commercial when her ex shows up, and of course reality tv doesn’t really know when to stop, may expose something to Homelander, ever possessive Homelander.

There is a lot of debate still about the Female, and how they’re trying to possibly super villains, because how do you fight a super villain? That’s right, with a superhero, or a manufactured one anyway, is this just another corporate product? But they finally show a nod to her past, she’s been missing since she was a child and it’s awful that they chose her just because of probably where she’s from and that she can’t speak english to defend herself.

Butcher has made his case regarding Vought and all the proof he has, and presented his request, jobs, pay, indemnity, and…Homelander being prosecuted to the deputy director of what. FBI? CIA? What freaking agency, well regardless, it’s a wash for now.

Why does anyone ever think going to Homeland first is always the best option. Well to be fair, his fake sell face is amazing so you know why people believe it.

Well one supe ends up being a betrayer, which isn’t a surprise because I had read the next episode description.
