Review of Watchmen season one episode two

Review of HBO’s series The Watchmen

Martial Feats of Camanche Horsemanship

“Just the end of the world, tick tock, tick tock….”

An opening scene in a scenario with a German soldier dictating to a typist, during World War 2.

He asks, “What is democracy?” but the entire speech is dictation for a flyer, aimed towards African Americans, and how they are treated by Americans, obviously white Americans.

Would you follow another countries propaganda if they were doing the same thing happening to you to another race?

It’s amazing the things people are willing to do to others, to make sure they are not treated that way. Humanity at its best.

Sister Knight doesn’t even ask the man in the wheelchair how he got to the tree where chief of police hangs, why her boss and friend is gone, or how it happened. She simply puts him in her car, and drives away to her secret location.

It’s funny how this show about masks protecting everyone comes at a time when Hong Kong is in such disruption.

We finally get to the questioning point and at least get a call out to Dr. Manhattan.

The old man “Will” mentions a conspiracy in Tulsa, we knew it had to be coming, the only reason Rorschach’s memory exists is because even in his death he pulled open the curtain hiding a conspiracy of others. Apparently this conspiracy is of such magnitude that it puts this man with high level contacts.

Oh, how could we forget the siren and the rain. The rain of small squid, are they squid? Why has it become so common over time that there is a siren everywhere when it starts. Why are they such tiny little things, and why are they raining?

The upside of the masked heroes and the masked cops working together is that when the body is found, there isn’t a fight over working on it or who gets to it. They just all show up to the same site and are working on who took down their chief of police.

There are three particular masked people, who all know each other, and the chief, without the mask. I’m sure we have upcoming backstory on how that happened.

We see the aftereffects of White Night, while we don’t know the history, we see Sister Knight and what happened to her, and how the chief was the first person she saw. We know it was 40 houses all attacked on Christmas at midnight, all cops, causing a massive round of police resignations.

But why attack police, what was going on in this world that cause an entire massive attack on police, their normally has to be a trigger effect, a background reason that built up.

Needless to say there is a massive retaliation from the cops to the area where Kavalry are known to live and hide.

Previously someone had mentioned Redfordations, apparently paying for something, as a small child accused Angela (Sister Knight) of paying for her bakery.

We learn that the first awful thing we saw was a massacre in Tusla, and that Redfordations were from President Redford to help with any type of making amends. So let’s get this right, there was a large racial massacre, and now we know of a large planned attack, directly on officers and their families. But the officers attacked were not all white, in fact more were African American. Something is off, in how the sides of battle are being drawn.

We get out second cameo appearance from an original case. Recognize him?

Good ole Hooded Justice on the right, from the original Watchmen movie photo. They show an old movie with him telling his life story, but how much of it is true. And why is he the only one mentioned on a television program? What about the rest?

And we find a skeleton in the chief’s closet during his wake, other then his apparent cocaine habit. He holds on to a relic from the original massacre, something that would be more likely the cause of a planned attack on the police to start a war.

Ozymandias has written a fake opera based on the creation of Dr. Manhattan, and he has his servants act it out, why is he so obsessed with that moment?

He also has a full staff of what are apparently clones(?), he has never been able to clone anyone, if he had, he would’ve done it when he was younger as he felt he was the closest thing to a god. That reason may be why he does it, but why focus on Dr Manhattan? Remembering his greatest con ever? Possibly that ostracized him when the truth became known and now has to create anyone who will tolerate him?

The old man who says his name is Will, is definitely from the massacre, but the shocker is that he is related to Angela. His only reason for showing up was to meet her, and show her where she came from. But you know what that means, either he’s going to die before he can, or something worse.

That’s just how these tv shows are, but he sure as hell knew how to make an exit.

Also, spoiler, we have another Watchmen OG team member coming soon. Can you guess which one?
